Are We All Intent on Suicide?

The idea of progress assumed, or perhaps implied, many sacrifices, including that of Mother Earth: through construction, paving, quarrying, exploitation of natural resources and so forth. It appears as though mankind is currently reevaluating progress and the sacrifices it claims with increasing clarity. Today more than ever, the question of environmental quality cannot be left to the ecologists. The situation has become so acute that it is finally making headlines, facing us all, every man, every woman.
