All happy families resemble one another; each miserable family is miserable in its own way, Leo Tolstoy, Anna Karenina. If indeed "all happy families resemble one another", does this mean that they have all learned the essential components of Happiness and applied them? And if so, are there essential components of Happiness that can be applied? This article discusses seven such components: Intimacy, authenticity, open-heartedness, love of ourselves, mutual acceptance, self-awareness, and nurturing of relations. Happiness is a feeling that comes from within. It is a feeling of empowerment. Our Happiness does not depend on our intimate others but on our ability to be open to each other, to accept and apply the seven components of Happiness in our relations.
