On 11 September 2001, the world and especially the US were shocked by the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center, the "Twin Towers", that caused the deaths of thousands of innocent civilians. Uncle Sam reacted. President George Bush, Jr. stated that the US was fighting as the force of good against evil. At the same time, another, alternative voice began to be heard in the media, questioning t h e action in Afghanistan. The queries touched on agendas such as freedom, peace, humanitarian treatment of the enemy, civil rights, and the like: Was the government's reaction just? Would it make the world a better place?
