A humane, free, and liberal society, especially a welfare state, is based on the values of equality and justice. If for any reason individuals cannot enjoy their rights according to the norms of distributive justice, such a state is expected to do the maximum to prevent or minimize injustice by implementing a policy of corrective justice. However, does "corrective justice" embrace the doing of social justice? Within the framework of this article we wish to suggest that even if society consents to the doing of corrective justice, it is doubtful whether it is capable of achieving social justice for most of its members for psychological, sociological and ethical reasons.
