Living in an Oxymoron, Attached to Feelings of Alienation

In this era of multiplicity or diversity as a post-modern ideal, people tend to wonder about society’s guidance because society defines “social facts” and educates its members to respond to the general interest. Individuals, when confronted with these different approaches, may become alienated from their unique voices and drawn to the group due to the human need to belong. Are we aware of these dilemmas or do we live in a state of self-deception? What are the psychological and social solutions to this combination of the need for individual fulfillment, which sometimes demands distancing oneself from the collective, and the need for attachment?
