Being Exceptional

The paper deals with the question of whether selfmanifestation can be detached from the socio-cultural steamroller, and whether this detachment testifies to the potential for achieving individual excellence. Alternatively, must we perhaps remain cloaked in the local, acting as if blinded in a society lacking direction, about to set sail for any possible destination, like those ready to accept the fetters of common sense?
