Sadism and Evil

Education and the law differentiate between good and evil while assuming that human behavior is generally positive. When confronted with evil we find it difficult to accept its presence and even more difficult to comprehend those individuals who inflict suffering for their own gratification. The purpose of this article is to differentiate between evil and sadism and to clarify the distinction with respect to moral judgments and the mentally ill.
