Total peace is impossible in this world. Situations of "no peace" often come about when a conflict arises, especially over territory. ' Overcrowding engenders violence — the absence of peace. Yet, overcrowding is a relative concept: the closer we are to a person mentally or emotionally, the less physical proximity, even "overcrowding," bothers us. In contrast, the "other" is meant to be far from us; if he is not, he causes overcrowding with-its— concomitant violence. The obvious conclusion is that territory is only a pretext for friction, a needless state of affairs between neighbors.
