Above all, a tale of close friendship that lasts a lifetime. A young boy, a new immigrant to Israel, experiences difficult integration into a group of children who enjoy an essentially happy, sun-filled childhood in World War II Tel Aviv. Throughout the world, millions are being killed at the front, the Holocaust is still only a rumor, yet in Tel Aviv - what might be another planet - people dance the waltz, are exhilarated by soccer games and attend movies in the afternoon.
