Among other things, the twentieth century is the century of the family car, an invention that changed individuals and societies, in effect, the conduct of daily life. Is it possible that once we solve one "problem" (i.e., embed physical work within our invented artifacts), we make room for existing problems, never before noticed, to emerge? Dr do, we produce new "problems" by the very route taken to solve previous problems?
